How DCC Works

When you present your credit card (Visa and MasterCard) for payment, you will be asked whether you would like to pay in your billing currency or in the local currency.



Paying with Dynamic Currency Conversion allows you to instantly see the price of your purchase in your own currency. The service offers immediate convenience to cardholders when they pay for goods and services. You see exactly how much you pay in your currency.


After you have made your choice of currency the transaction is processed as normal. Full details of the transaction and the exchange rate are provided on your credit card receipt for your information, i.e. local currency amount, your currency amount and the exchange rate applied.


Should you choose to pay in the local currency, the transaction continues as normal and the exchange into your billing currency is done by your bank at a later date at an unknown exchange rate.
